Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. Certain roles may have specific age or experience requirements.
Ability to commit to a minimum of 5-10 hours per month or specific time frames leading up to and during International Women in Cyber Day events.

International Women in Cyber Day (IWCD), founded in 2018, is a global movement that celebrates, recognizes, and empowers women in cybersecurity every year on September 1. It raises awareness about gender equity in the field, supports inclusion, and showcases the achievements of women worldwide who contribute to a safer digital world.

IWCD is an international initiative founded by Lisa Kearney, CEO of the Women CyberSecurity Society (WCS2), a registered Canadian nonprofit. WCS2 manages IWCD’s official operations, partnerships, and global volunteer network.

Communities around the world host events, workshops, and campaigns to celebrate women in cybersecurity and create pathways for education, mentorship, and career growth.
